Me and Milo were inspired to make Thinking Mode by the upcoming finals week. This time can be incredibly stressful and forces you to catch up on any missing work and put in an immense amount of time to succeed which keeps you thinking, hence the hook and name of the parody. What makes our production a good parody is that we had a variety of flows to match different parts of the song, and that the lyrics have a lot of underlying meaning, as while the song may seem to just be humorous at the surface level, it is really about the stress of high school and finals.
I am personally super proud of how I was able to configure the raw vocal tracks to get rid of errors that we made when recording in the studio. That and in addition to how I manually mixed the instrumental at the end of the song really made the song come together and sound very professional. I personally think that music production, and learning how to edit, mix, and create audio is incredibly fun and is even on par with video editing/film. Creating a parody allowed me and Milo to express creative freedom while also enjoying ourselves in the process of making work that we are both proud of. I certainly look forward to continuing to do audio related assignments in the future.
